For many years Burton & Co LLP have acted in all aspects of criminal matters, at the police station and at both the magistrates and crown courts, providing advice for those being questioned.

Our Criminal Team is therefore highly experienced in representing their clients’ interests when dealing with the police, no matter how serious or minor the allegation against them.

We offer sound and pragmatic advice throughout the proceedings, from initial questioning at the police station to representation in either the magistrates court or the crown court.

We have a number of qualified solicitors, and, should matters proceed to the crown court, our Judith Brennan is permitted to appear before a crown court judge and represent a client’s interests, as she is one of only a handful of solicitors in Lincoln with higher rights of audience.

For particularly serious offences, we can, if necessary, draw on the expertise of a network of specialist barristers to represent our clients’ interests.

We are able to offer various types of funding, including Legal Representative Orders (Legal Aid) and fixed fee. However, not all cases are means-tested, and initial consultations can be provided free of charge.
